One Christmas Eve, we were busy cutting out Christmas cookies and baking them, when the doorbell rang. Here was Santa and he knew that he had come to the home of Suzanne and Jim K. Galer. He did all of the things that are required of Santa and created a magical memory for our whole family that we shall never forget. Your father was so creative and caring and a very gentle-man who knew how to make memories.
We are sorry for the loss of father Don and the recent loss of your grandson. May God grant only mercy and peace for all of you in the days to come because you deserve it.

I have many memories with Papa. He taught me how to play pool. He always let me sit on his lap to steer the boat at the cottage in Cadillac. I will remember him always in his "old blues" telling stories about elaborate pranks he had done as a teenager, and also skipping out of active duty one day to spend the day with Marnie and getting caught. We caught lots of fish and crayfish together. We often sat on the porch at the cottage eating burgers or homemade burritos. Sometimes, if we were lucky, he would even walk my brother, sister, and I to the candy store or take us to see the bear. Over the past few years it has been hard to see someone I love forget the things that make life so wonderful. I am happy he will be with my brother who was always an avid "Papa's Boy!"

I would yell from my crib "Walkie Donnie" and my Dad would come running to walk me around and around and around.
