I was a freshman in high school when I first got to know Miss Irene Cole. I had just entered High School and was struggling with algebra. Miss Cole took me under her wing and with her tutoring i soon became proficient in this subject which I had grappled with before her help. When I graduated from McCurdy, our class elected her as our sponsor. Words alone are insufficient in expressing my gratitude to her for the impact she had

Ms. Cole was such a loving, giving woman. She will be dearly missed...because she was loved dearly!!

Miss Cole was the personification of a McCurdy School missionary. From my days as a student in the late seventies to my visits for class reunions her unassuming kindness will be remembered by everyone who's life she touched.
Her life of service to others is an inspiration.

Irene was the most inspiring teacher, I still remember her as my math teacher, and will always be thankfuf for her. RIP you will be missed.

Miss Cole was such an inspiration! Her gentle ways, kindness and love were who she was. Her love for McCurdy School was so great - she's a big part of why I love McCurdy so much! To her family, my most sincere and heartfelt condolences. Everyone with whom Irene came in contact with was blessed to have known a saintly woman. She will be missed here (I called her for help very recently), but she's home.

I have trouble imagining McCurdy School without Mrs. Cole. Prayers and best wishes to her family and friends. Rest peacefully, Mrs. Cole!

As a former staff child at McCurdy School, I cannot imagine McCurdy without the presence of Irene! Her gentle spirit permeated the campus. I many fond memories of her! My parents served as missionaries from 1967 - 1989. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Although I will be unable to be at the services in person, I will be there in thoughts and prayers.
