David E. Owens age 60, of Paris, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011. He was born to Richard and Margerite "Hilda" Owens in Canton, Ohio. David graduated from Canton South High School in 1969. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 14 years. David worked as a crane operator for Republic Steel of Canton and Massillon for 16 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and traveling. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Owens and grandparents, Raymond & Elsie Kasler, and Mary Emmer. Survivors include his loving wife as of 40 years August 06, 2011, Myra J. "Bertram" Owens; two sons, Joel (Karen) Owens and Michael (April) Owens; daughter, Tami Owens Hinderer; mother, Margerite "Hilda" Owens; one brother, Tim (Debbie) Owens; one sister, Susan (Al) Liber; 15 grandchildren and one great grandson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 8 at the Reed Funeral Home from 6-8pm and Friday, September 9, from 10-11am at Salvation Army (420 Market Avenue South Canton, Ohio 44702 ). A service will be held at Salvation Army on Friday, September 9 at 11:00am officiated by Major Marcus Jugenheimer. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
