To Radford's Wife, Family, and Friends,

I just learned this evening of Radford's untimely passing. While I did not know Radford long, or in any capacity beyond his employment, he played a huge part in my family's life when we moved to Fort Wayne. My oldest son, five at the time, called Radford his best friend and missed him greatly when we moved out of the Residence Inn and into our own home.

I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

At the meetings we share our experiences resulting from our child's death, and how we deal with those experiences. The chance to talk and share and listen is so important in the grieving process. If you ever are interested in attending, there is no time frame in which to start coming. Come when you think you are ready to meet others who understand how you feel. Dear Piper,

I am so sorry for your loss and please accept my sincerest condolences.

We met at Lincoln and Anns wedding on June 18th 2005, where Rad was one of the three best men- but he was by far the trendiest with his Oakley glasses! My memory to share with you is about his genorsity and thoughtfulness. That wedding day was a bright and sunny June day and he looked after us all - and loaned me a pair of these trendy sunglasses, which I was thrilled about.

God bless Rad, gone from our lives but not from our hearts.

Radford was an incredible employee, a huge asset to the hotel. I've never had such a great front desk clerk work for me. He was fantastic at his job and our guests LOVED him!
That being said, personally I will miss him very dearly. Radford always seemed to be waiting for me to walk in the door to give me a smart alec comment or joke and I couldn't wait to hear it. It seemed that he was determined to

That being said, personally I will miss him very dearly. Radford always seemed to be waiting for me to walk in the door to give me a smart alec comment or joke and I couldn't wait to hear it. It seemed that he was determined to start my day with a laugh. I always felt it was going to be a good day when Radford was working, we always had fun. Playing practical jokes, or just sharing stories, he was so great to be around.
We now have a huge hole in our hotel and our hearts that cannot be filled.
Radford, you are missed dearly.

I’ve tried to recall this week how we first meet, all I remember was that I’d just moved from Scotland, enrolled at the art college and knew no one.

We met in the first week of orientation – we had brief conversations over the first few days. Then came a trip to London to visit an art exhibition, we got chatting on the coach journey and realised we had similar interests. Half way through the trip we went to a pub for lunch – the group all got ID (I was only 17) but after Rad showing his ID they assumed we all must have been old enough because he looked so young !!

Over the next year we had at college together we formed a friendship which lasts to this day. Over the years he had my back and I had his, Including us being each other’s best men – still one of my best memories of Rad is on the morning of his wedding day scrambling around to get the music for the reception. He wasn’t bothered about his suit, kravat or getting to the church on time. He was determined to have all the songs Piper wanted so the day was just as Piper had wanted.

I’ve got so many great memories of the times I had with Rad; Red car on the news, BrickYard trip, explosions in the woods, badly cooked spaghetti and 3am angels all immediately spring to mind.

And that’s what I’ve realised I know he’s not here anymore and I’m never going to have the 2am phone call with him saying Duudddeee.
But it doesn’t matter because I remember them and that’s what’s important.

For he’ll be gone but not forgotten.

I was Radford's biggest fan here at the hotel. We worked together so well and when he wasn't here I always said, "Why can't Radford be working today?" It will feel really wierd without him here and I guess it really hasn't quite sunk in. I will miss him more than you can imagine. Although I never quite understood his stories and jokes I still liked hearing them. He was a truly kind soul and the good lord now has the pleasure of his company. I am so sorry for your loss and if there is anything we can do hear at the hotel please do not hesitate to ask.

Ah man, I will always remember the laughs we used to have at school, you always brought a smile to my face! I know wherever you are you'll be lighting up the place with your warmth and sense of humour. RIP - Ben
