I was doing research on my family and recently discovered that my Grandmother Aileen Mae Bend Washay had a half sister
I found this wonderful obituary about this incredible lady!
I called her son Ken today and we chatted...
Lost lost family..well not really lost because i didnt know they existed!
How lucky you all were to have had this incredible woman in your life for 94 years!

Irene Rollston was known to me and all my cousins as Nana, she was my grandmother but again........... she was Nana.
I remember when I was a little boy following her around the kitchen on holiday visits and she would always have time for me. Figure that out with all the preparation going on to get the family dinner ready for at least 20 people..... but she had the time. She would always have olives out as a side dish

I first met Irene in 1996 when I was running for an open judicial seat in our county. We were introduced by my campaign manager, who worked with her son Ken, a respected local attorney. From our first meeting, I found Irene to be keenly intelligent, fiercely loyal and a determined advocate for women in our community. Despite her tiny stature, she was an energetic and commanding presence.
