At a family gathering a few years back, Uncle Dan said to me "So, you're moving". I was so surprised because the house had been on the market for about 10 minutes, so I asked him "How did you know that?" Without missing a beat, he said "I'm a detective......It's my job to know these things!" Cracked me up! That quick, dry, Irish wit will be greatly missed.

Uncle Dan;

You were always the "rock" of the family and we will all miss you.
We will also miss the Thanksgivings we had together with Kay and Mary and the eggnog.

Go in peace knowing that you have been rightous and a man of G-d. Thank you for your love and your dedication to family, police and being the great uncle to me, the wayward nephew.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dan ( I think that's the first time in my life I have not called him Mr. O'reilly!) I remember as kids growing up, Dan sitting in HIS chair in the den reading the paper and making us laugh! I will miss his wit and his big heart. I know you are in a wonderful place right now. To my friends Diane and David, and to Dot, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I so wish that I could be there with you. I pray for you all.
