Coach Schomber was an excellent teacher. His history lectures were interesting and captivating at times. He certainly inspired a love of history in me. He is one of the reasons I became a teacher myself.

We were lucky as students, to have an instructor that cared. He was a great coach, and a great person. My prayers are with the family. Truly sorry for your loss.

Coach Schomber was my History teacher North Shore Jr. High. My Homemaking class was to cook a lunch and invite a teacher. Myself and Glenda Hicks chose Coach to attend. I was afraid we didn't cook enough so I skipped class so he would have enough. So funny. I don't think he thought it was funny. We thought he was the greatest.

I have never met, or since met another person more cool, calm and collected as Al Schomber. A person of leadership & integrity are hard to come by these days. Al had all of these qualities. I looked up to Big Al growing up and always kept him close in my heart. I will miss him.
God Bless You All

Great teacher enjoyed his History class. I remember watching him walk across the street - to and from school. RIP
