Amanda and I swam together on the Bishop Luers swim team. She was one of the best! She always had courage and pride. But that was shown even more when she battled this cancer. She is a reminder for everyone to always put your best foot forward and to do it with a smile. I would only hope to ever have the courage that she did...what an inspiration. My heart goes out to your family. We will continue to pray for all of Amanda's family and friends.

Brian, I was devestated to hear the news of your dear wife's passing. I wanted to share with you and your children an old Irish funeral prayer that has brought me comfort on many difficult days.

There are no easy answers to what you now endure, no ways to dull your sorrow; and no quick and simple cure. You've lost someone you cherished; their passing brings such pain, but GOD gives you this promise, one day you will meet again.

Her Journey’s Just Begun
Don't think of her as gone away-
her journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets-
this earth is only one. . .
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched. . .
for nothing loved is ever lost-
and she was loved so much.
In Loving Memory ~ Love you always Amanda

Amanda although we only knew each other a couple of years we sure did share a lot in that time. We shared our happy moments and the things that we feared the most being sick with leukemia. I feel so blessed to have met you and your family. I will miss you so much-we had a connection with what we have been through that was special! I will miss that SMILE of yours too....I know you are leukemia free now and happy and healthy-you have just moved for now-but I will see you again girl! I love you!!

Amanda, my sweet baby girl, I miss you so much already, you taught me so much about life from the first time I held you in my arms. I cherish all of our time together and will hold those memories close to my heart for the rest of my life, gone but never ever forgotten. Till I see you again all of my love, mom.

I never got the honor to meet Amanda, but reading all the information Sarah posted each day on facebook, Amanda became an inspiration to me and for me to re-evaluate my life. I am very sad for the families and hope the grace of god will get each one of them through each day that is to come.
