We’re very sorry to hear that Carl has passed away.

We’re so glad that you both took the opportunity to visit Denmark and among other things got to stay in the house on the island Aero, where Carl’s father was born and that you actually got to sleep in the room, where he used to sleep!

We enjoyed visiting you every time we visited Ken & Mary in Iowa, and the mail correspondance we had hereafter - especially around Christmas!

Mabel I am very sorry to learn of Carl's death. Though I only remembering meeting you two once--(at least in my adult years)-I enjoyed the visit we had in Sioux City, and I've enjoyed the letters and emails I've received from you and Carl over the past few years.

Brenda Bass-Boone Iowa. and in case you aren't sure who I am, I am the granddaughter of Ina and Fay Hannan-my mom was Wanda.

We'll remember Carl as a very warm and loveable person, and we are very glad that he came to see us and our family here in Denmark and got to know him personally. We'll miss him a lot.

I'll also miss my cosy correspondance with Carl by e-mail, especially at Xmas where we exchanged news about what had happened in the families in the USA and Denmark in the year that passed.

A last farewell and rest in peace.

I have fond memories of my cousin's Sunday visits to our farm, when we were kids.
We are fortunate to have spent time with Carl on our visit to Iowa a few years ago.
Carl will be remembered as a kind and gentle man.
