I just found out bout this today. I just wanted to express my thanks to him to his family. Dr. Rento played no small part in my survival as an infant. My first weeks were a nail-biter. On the occasion of my first discharge from the hospital he penned the summary, noting in part: "... the baby has, at this stage, seemingly the potential for normal development, although this is a guarded opinion." He was quite correct, as it turns out. Every time I think back on his cautious optimism and support over the years it makes me smile.

I had a dream of seeing Dr. Rento, last night. He was my friend, as much as my kids' doctor. I would look for him every time I was at The 'Y'. After the 'Y' closed, I would look for him at L.A. fitness; and, I still have not stopped. Dr. R. Always spoke of his family with love, pride and concern. I miss seeing him, and will continue to do so for some time. May G-d bless his family with strength, peace and comfort. best Wishes

I am just hearing about this now. I wanted to send my sympathies to the Rento family. It seems like only yesterday that he sat me down and explained to me that I had a brain tumor. He took care of me throughout the treatment and I will never forget how sweet and compassionate he was. I'm deeply upset that I missed the services. Please know that he will be in my heart forever for everything he did for me and my family.

My spouse and I want to express our sincere sympathy to Dr. Rento's family and friends. The week we got our foster son we took him to Notchview Peds. It was the first time we were parents and the first pediatrician appointment we had ever been to as new parents. He was very compassionate. He explained what was happening with our son who came to us very sick. We will never forget his expertise and kindness.--Michelle & Eva

Please accept my sympathy at the passing of a wonderful doctor. He was my children's pediatrician when we lived in North Jersey. He was always wonderful with Alicia and Steven. He even called in the evening to check how they were doing when they had been to his office with an illness. A person like that will be greatly missed.

To The Rento Family: It was 32 years ago that Dr. Rento was in the delivery room the day my daughter was born. Three years later she was joined by her brother and the care that Dr. Rento gave my children was amazing. He was always so comforting and reassuring. He had such a wonderful way with children and there was never any doubt how much he cared for them. Now it's my grandson who is the patient and he

I am sitting here half-way across the world staring, stunned, so saddened by this loss. My brother just called from NJ to tell me and together we sat silently on the phone lines just processing it all- shocked. I am 31 (and a mom of 3) and my brother 29. It has been 'many years' since Dr. Rento treated us and our siblings as some of his original 'kids' back when Notchview was 'small'...but we ADORED him forever and would
