Mary O. Schaefer

Shortsville: Mary O. Schaefer, age 93, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 4, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Carl) Romeiser of Shortsville; son, R. Lee Schaefer of Canandaigua; sister, Eva Hovey of Canandaigua; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Larry) Rocco, Bryan Romeiser (Patricia Matthewson), Lori (Tatem) Paddock, Ryan (Hayley) Schaefer, Scott (Susan) Schaefer, Christopher (Bonnie) Martino, and Kevin (Michelle) Schaefer; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends, including Daniel and Jean Paddock and Patricia Schafer. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert T. Schaefer; sister, Catherine Walborn; two brothers, Michael Denny and John Oklevitch; daughter-in-law, Carol Schaefer. Mary was born and raised in Manchester and was the daughter of Daniel and Anna (Procko) Oklevitch . She attended Manchester Schools. Mary enjoyed gardening, bingo, reading, crocheting, playing cards. She was an avid New York Yankee's baseball fan. Mary will be sadly missed by her family and her thoughtful friends at 80 Parrish St., Canandaigua and Newark Manor Nursing Home. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at a date and time to be announced. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Shortsville.
