How does anyone express the grief, sadness and tragic loss , of someone so well-liked by the entire community. He was a pillar of strength for family, friends and co-workers. May your many memories help you through the most difficult days ahead. God Bless You All!

At the days end I find it best to sleep sitting in a chair these days with a book in my lap or the TV still on when I wake. Leaving the chair for bed is rough, but it must be done. The last couple of days for me have been a struggle to say the least and falling back to sleep after leaving the comforts of the chair and crawling into bed doesn't seem to get any easier. I'm sure those who are reading this are dealing with that same struggle. A struggle that begins with all the sad emotions that keep popping up along with all of those how come questions. I can only think of one word that best describes this tragedy and that's senseless or can I say that's the best word that I can come up with. I'm praying that the struggle for answers will begin to get easier with time as it has after losing my Dad at a young age and then my brother John. I don't think about my Dad who has been gone for 25 yrs. as much as I use too. On the other hand my brother John has been gone for 20 years from another senseless death leaving me with an empty spot that I can't seem to fill. Thus comes to mind, sometimes life sucks and then we die. After hearing the sad news on Thursday I've since added thoughts about Dan, Lisa and Josh to go with the tossing and turning as the moon pops up and slowly slides back behind the Mts. and all the hours in between. It's sure hard to smile these days, but if you can picture my Brother John and my close friend Dan standing shoulder to shoulder with Lisa and Josh and so many others that have passed standing in a group. They seem to all be looking down, there's a moment of silence and then Dan's sense of humor causes him to say "John look at those poor bastards standing in line!" That has to make you smile if not laugh out loud. I can clearly picture Dan, Lisa, Josh, my brother John, uncle Mike and cousin Mike Jr. my Dad, Uncle Augie, Aunt Ruth, ......... We're all in line and I personally feel okay with that knowing how many great people are already there waiting. Some day I have a feeling we'll be back together, I just hope I see Dan first because he sure loves to play tackle and it never seemed to matter if I was in a store, church or standing in the woods so I'm sure it won't matter where we are when we hook up again. Maybe Dan will slip me a pass like he did a few weeks back when he spotted me in the milk cooler at Stewart's. Speaking of Stewart�s did Dan work there because I sure saw him there a lot? Just a little dig that I�m sure will deserve anther tackle. I thanked Dan for the pass, Damn that would've hurt! These are the thoughts that I'm going to stay awake searching for that will make me smile and I have a lot of them. When my mind goes blank and bad thoughts start popping up I�ll just picture Dan's big smile. Dan and I have shared a lot of laughs over the years and I'm confident that someday we'll be together once again to share many more. In the meantime Dan, Lisa and Josh will be waiting for us with friends and family that have already passed, no doubt. I once heard a preacher at a funeral say we're all put on earth to die. That makes sense. After hearing that I thought Imagine if we all died when we reached a certain age, how scary would that be? No way could that feel like the pressures of waiting to turn 18 so that we could or can move out of Mom and Dad's or 21 so we could or can legally purchase giggle juice. Okay buddy you'll be 100 tomorrow, it's been fun. Hmmm there'd be so much more that I could say to the 99 yr. old but I'm guessing that I'd end with good luck buddy, I'll see you in 43 years. Maybe some day that will be reality but until then let�s help each other learn how to deal with our thoughts and the unknown.
