Two months, not long enough to heal, but a long time to miss you. When I miss you so much the tears start to fall I hav so many sweet memories that flood my mind, i am able to smile at some precious moment in our life, My darling man you make me smile through my tears.

As of now, I have waves of sadness that alternate with waves of peace. Sleep is elusive this week, but sometimes as I lay in bed, I see a beautiful shade of indigo blue in my mind's eye, and feel a brief euphoric peace that I know must be from dad or the Holy Spirit...or maybe both of them "double teaming" me with comfort. : ) I told Gina on the phone last night that I think dad will continue to impact people in a positive way even after his passing....personally, I am inspired to be more like him. Dad, I miss you desparately...but I can feel your spirit with us...still comforting. And I'm thankful to God even for the pain...because somehow I'm growing closer to Him. : )

My husband and I were moving back to the U.S.A. after spending three years in Germany. I came back earlier than Paul. My flight got into New York too late to make my connection to New Orleans where my husband's parents were to pick me up. I was traveling with our two dogs. When I tried to get another flight to New Orleans I was told there were no other flights that night; they would put me up in a

My husband and I were moving back to the U.S.A. after spending three years in Germany. I came back earlier than Paul. My flight got into New York too late to make my connection to New Orleans where my husband's parents were to pick me up. I was traveling with our two dogs. When I tried to get another flight to New Orleans I was told there were no other flights that night; they would put me up in a hotel and put the dogs in a kennel. That was not acceptable to me. I asked if they had a flight to St. Louis. They did and I got on that flight with no one in the world knowing I was on that flight (before cell phones). I arrived in St. Louis at 10:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. I called Uncle Gregory I told him I was at the airport. In no time he came to get me and my dogs and I spent the night with Gregory and Jeanine. The next day he drove me to meet my mom half way to Hannibal. I had no qualms about calling him on a Saturday night. I knew what kind of person he was.

I stayed in Hannibal and spent Christmas with my mom, Grandmother and Gregory and Jeanine and all the kids. What a great memory.

He took one bad day and made it o.k.

That's just the way he was.

I am lucky to have an Uncle who is great;

From the time I was small,
I knew Uncle Gregory met that call;

His loving and caring,
No judgment he showed, he was never erring;

What can you say about a Godfather,

I cannot imagine the loss you are suffering. I will always remember the fun, laughter and crazy things we did while you were in Rho Chi. I know that your loving children and grandchildren will help you thru this terrible time.

I will never look at the flowers, trees, grass, or blue skies again the same way. Here was Greg fighting the fight of his life and could find beauty in such simple things. What an awesome man.!! We were neighbors for thirty years and I grew to admire his integrity, his generosity, his truthfulness and his kindness. He did not have a mean bone in his body and no one ever had anything bad to say about Greg. We drank wine together, shared stories of our kids, laughed together,worked together, studied the bible together, and even cried together. I will miss you old friend but you will live forever in my heart. You are and were the most perfect friend and neighbor. Your family will miss you dearly but you have left so many wonderful memories for everyone that you will never be forgotten.
