Mom was always ready to go with a spirit of adventure. We went to Oktoberfest while in Cleveland every year. One time we met first in our mobile home. I turned around to fine her on our chair with our huge stuffed bear on her lap!
Always ready with a willingness to listen to your problems. She would give you her perspective while letting you solve it yourself. She had moments of insight that would help one realize how we should always appreciate the blessing of each other. She always thought of others. Making dishes that she wasn't wild about for her husband and others. She would have my parents to her place for dinner and was always a grand hostess. It went right to their hearts.
Mom was an especially giving second Mother to me and I couldn't help but be drawn to her love.
Every day with Mom became an adventure, always with a twinkle in her eye and a ready sense of humor, but she had that way of warming other’s hearts. She was a gifted business woman and always kept her mind occupied. She could bring out the best in about everybody she dealt with. We always knew there would be an empty chair one day but even when her hills got too hard to climb she remained steadfast. Her memory will sustain me all my life, even as I face my own eternity. The thought of meeting her again gives me great comfort. A truly Grand Lady!

It was an honor to have Mrs. Davis live at the Court. She was loved by staff and residents. She was blessed to have such a wonderful and caring family around her.

The day I got the message that you passed. I thought back to 14 years ago which was one of the hardest days in my life. You sat there and told us three girls to think the positive thoughts. You were our rock at the time when we weren't sure of what was going to happen to mom. You told us to be brave and to not cry because mom could hear everything we said to her. You were there

The day I got the message that you passed. I thought back to 14 years ago which was one of the hardest days in my life. You sat there and told us three girls to think the positive thoughts. You were our rock at the time when we weren't sure of what was going to happen to mom. You told us to be brave and to not cry because mom could hear everything we said to her. You were there for me after mom passed away. I remember calling you and on you and you would talk to me until I calmed down. It didn't matter what time of day or night it was. You were there for me, You always told me to remember mom wasn't in pain anymore.
You were the most positive person I have ever met. I enjoyed our conversation's that we had many times.
You always gave me the advice I needed it at the time. You have instilled a love for spelling in me. I remember going to your house and the times you and I would wake up before everyone else and we would squeeze oranges for fresh orange juice.. I am spoiled in that way cause I still don't like the carton or bottled stuff. It's not as good as that old fresh squeezed stuff.
I also remember your applesauce also. I am spoiled in that way also. I don't really care for the commercial stuff either.
I will never forget the time we went to the flea market with you and grandpa. I said Grandma I don't want to buy no flea's and bring them home. I remember the toy dog you and grandpa bought me that day that did the flip's and tricks. It was one of my favorite toy's cause I wanted a real dog at the time.
I also remember the light globe I would break off the strings and you would find them on the floor, I broke them off cause I didn't understand how the light came on them, and I wanted it to light up in my hands.
I will never forget you and mom instilled the love for nature in me at a young age. I remember the encyclopedias at your house. I would always go and read them. I remember summer nights catching fireflys.

My grandmother will always be remembered for so many things. While growing up in Florida, we would always go to Ohio for the summers and stay with my grandparents. My grandmother accompanied my mom on alot of those trips and grandma (Electa) would drill us kids on multiplication and division numbers.... she would say " what is 10 x 6 ? , how about 12 x 10 ?", etc. As kids, we were like, GRANDMA, we dont want to do

My grandmother will always be remembered for so many things. While growing up in Florida, we would always go to Ohio for the summers and stay with my grandparents. My grandmother accompanied my mom on alot of those trips and grandma (Electa) would drill us kids on multiplication and division numbers.... she would say " what is 10 x 6 ? , how about 12 x 10 ?", etc. As kids, we were like, GRANDMA, we dont want to do math. she said lets just do a few more. Well, I am thankful today as Math is what I am pretty good at.

Grandma was a business woman back when women didnt run businesses. I was always impressed with her doing her books manually and balancing out to the penny each time. She was extremely smart and people always listened to what she had to say. She was also not afraid to stand up for what she thought was right either.

My grandmother always sent us birthday, christmas, easter cards with money each year. She would type out each check personally instead of doing them manually. I think it was because she probably typed faster thn she wrote.

I loved listening to older stories from my grandmother. She would tell me how back in the day, everyone use to dress up to go downtown and go shopping. They would wear their Sunday best and hats, oh the ladies like hats. She just didnt get the big baggy clothes these young kids were were these days that were hanging down to their knees. I would just laugh as she talked about this generation and how people just dont dress up anymore. I dont ever remember a time when my grandmother was not always nicely dressed with her hair perfect and lipstick on.

I use to call my grandmother the 'bag lady'. There was never a time growing up when someone didnt need something and she would say, "hang on, I have that in my purse". She was always prepared for everything. She had tums, aspirin, lipchap, gum, needle/thread, etc.. Oh, wait you need a hankerchief, here you go.

I was lucky enough to have grandparents that were well travelled and shared some great stories with us grandkids. My grandparents were so in love and funny little nick names for each other.

In the last few years, Electa still had a great personality and everlasting smile. She was extremely positve and happy all the way until the end. In the last several years after my grandfather and mother passed away, I asked Grandma, how do you remain so positive and happy each day... she told me that she was happy that her husband and daugher were no longer in pain here on earth and they were in a much better place and one day she would see them again. She told me there were so many others she was wanting to see again as well. She also said, when you get to be my age, you just appreciate each day you have.

To grandma - you were loved by so many and will be remembered by all.

Grandma! How I miss you. You have truly always been there when I have needed you. I have always loved to come see you ever since I was little. Doing Relay for Life with you, has made a great impact on my life. You lived an amazing life! Seeing you one last time in December is the memory I will always remember and cherish. Thanks for being the best grandma ever. I will miss you forever. I love you! <3>
