Memories & Candles
Susan, you do not know me, but I went to USC with Houston. In those days he wnet by "Jerry." I have been searching for him for years even before the Internet.
I always searched by "Jerry." I am truly sorry for your loss. I thought of him as a friend when I knew him at Carolina.
If you can, please send me your address, for I would like to send you a card.
We had several mutual friends. I am not sure if you remember Lance Lufkin, but he and Houston were good friends.
Once again, sorry for your loss.

Susan, I have such good memories of Houston while I worked for him when I was in the Athens office. He was a fair supervisor and supportive of services we provided to handicapped individuals. Mostly I remembered his car, the one that needed to go to the car wash! He knew what was important and it seems like he continued to do this after retirement.

Houston was a good man and I enjoyed our friendship and time together. Having assumed his former job upon his retirement, I only saw him three or four times afterwards. He 'was who he was' and that was special about him. May his pain be forever taken away.

Dear Susan, Please accept my condolences in the passing of Houston. I worked with you in the Savannah Vocational Rehabilitation Office and had the pleasure of associating with both of you over the years of our careers with Rehabilitation Services. I remember Houston as a very kind and gentle man with a welcoming spirit to anyone who went to his office for any reason. I know he now has a special place in heaven for the work that he did

Our deepest condolences to Susan and the entire family and friends of Houston. I had the privilege of working with Houston over the past 15 years. He was a great friend to the animals, along with being a man of great intelligence, character, and education. He devoted much time, talent, and treasure to educating the public about the importance of animal care and responsibility. He was a tremendous advocate for spay/neuter. Houston embodied the principles we live by at RAIN:

Dear Susan, Sorry to hear about your loss. I will always remember meeting both of you at the Augusta airport as we all headed for our adventure on the Concord to London. Your mother had just passed away and was buried in Beaverdam as was my mother. Then we found we connected through the Levi J Knight descendants. We will be in Ray City late Thursday and Friday. Maybe we will get to see you then. Geraldyne & James

Susan and Family, So very sorry to hear of Houston's death and regret very much that we will be unable to attend his funeral and see you. I don't have to tell you how much I cared for Houston or what a wonderfully kind and intelligent man he was. He will be missed by many.
