Mrs. Barbara J. Gridley, 80, of Truxton, N.Y., passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at Cortland Park Nursing & Rehab Center. Born, October 7, 1931 in Baldwinsville, Barbara was the daughter of Frank and Susan Simons Lee.
Barbara was formerly employed by the Crescent Corset Co., and Smith-Corona in Cortland, she was a member of the Onondaga Lake Antique Car Club and the Truxton Senior Center. Barbara enjoyed making crafts and traveling with her husband to various car clubs and craft shows. She is survived by her husband, Warren Gridley and three daughters, Kathleen (Kenneth) Green of Homer, Melody (Danny) Nye of McGraw and Pauline (Gordon) Garrity of Cortland, two brothers, William and Frederick Lee of Baldwinsville, four grandchildren, Kellie Green, Kimberly (Alfred) Poon, Brandon (Kim) Garrity and Heather Nye., one great grandson, Oliver Ryan Garrity. Barbara was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and a grandson, Ryan Garrity in 1997.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home 69 N. Main St., Cortland with Rev. Nelson Stafford officiating. Prayers of committal will follow in Cortland Rural Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
