Cheri and Family,
I was so surprised to learn of John passing away today (7-14-12). We had kept in touch (had to keep up on Grandkids and Great-Grandkids) and I was wondering why I hadn't heard from him. I am so sorry for your loss and know you miss him every minute of every day. I loved his funny stories and learned a lot from him when I worked for him. I will miss him and keep all of you

It has been a month and seems only yesterday. keeping my promise of doing a good deed weekly for needy as you wanted. We shared without having anyone know so you were my mentor. You would tell me how to respond or ask and you were always right. Cher and I talk daily and boy the loss is magnified so much as each day passes. Four beautiful children to love and a baby lost but with you in heaven.

John was a delightful colleague especially since we shared a similar background from our Jesuit education to our interest in information technology. We were also both transplants from the East Coast.

He was a terrific CIO for St. Luke's and a great Board Member for RCTIE, an IT association housed in KC's Jesuit University.

My greatest memory was our lunches discussing first, the challenging life for a CIO and how much fun he was having at St. Luke's, keeping them well ahead

John,

You were tough through to the end! You join the big HIE in the sky. The one we almost completed in Kansas City!

I am sure you are explaining to God what "cloud" based computing means.

The world will miss your enthusiasm, your commitment to excellence, your relentless pursuit of amazing!

I, like many who trained with you, will miss your talent, your inquisitiveness, your zeal for our profession, industry, and city. But most important, your life loyal friendship.

God speed my good friend.

Rest in Peace.

As my only brother-in-law and maid of honor at his wedding I learned the many aspects of John's life that inspired me to use in my own daily life. WE shared Christianity although different religions. He would call me the kind soul and I would repeat it back.I could get his dander up at family gatherings if I ttied to have the end piece of turkey or ham before he finished carving. Family meals were important to both Cher and

I am so very sorry or your loss. The difference John made in people's lives extends farther than even he may have realized. Because of John and The Lord, I am able to provide for my family. I pray for your comfort and peace during your time of grieving. Num 6:24-26.

In my memory, John will always be smiling.

I met John when starting a project for the Governor of Kansas, and he was one of the first to clearly understand the possibility of the effort. His efforts on that project were sincere and in the years since, when our paths would cross, he was always supportive and quick with practical ideas.

Thanks John!

I was blessed to be a spiritual advisor for John. He was deeply devoted to God, and God was very much part of his interior life.

I keep him in my prayers.

“Those to whom much is given, much is expected.” John is the faithful and trusted servant that met his Master’s expectations. He shared his love, energy, wisdom and willing help with all those he met and the love was always returned.

John has been and remains my close friend and mentor. Nearly every day, after not working directly with John for many years, I still find myself asking “what would John do.” He always made himself available, giving of himself helping
