Memories & Candles

My prayers for Loretta's family. I taught third grade at MacArthur and many of her second graders came to me for third grade and were always well-prepared as students. I recall one Halloween when she dressed up as a wicked witch with a green face and full black costume. She was the best witch rivaling the one in The Wizard of Oz. She was always a model instructor and highly respected. I have thought of her often since she retired from MacArthur. God bless her soul.

I was privileged to have taught with Loretta for 10 years at MacArthur. She and Dorothy McCloskey were wonderful mentors for the young teachers. In those days the staff was like family and we all interacted socially. Loretta was a big part of the glue that kept us together.
