Sister Majella was one of those special teahers you never forget. I graduated from Mercy Academy in 1964. Sister taught me biology. Our class was quite interesting because of the way she taught us I will never forget. She was always there for us whether it be during school or after. I have never forgotten her all these years. Just a very special person. May god bless her always.

Sister Majella was a wonderful Latin teacher. All those "Latin root words" have alway helped my vocabulary.

I enjoyed the Biology class you taught at Mercy. You were short of stature, but big of heart!

I will always remember working at the convent with Sr. Majella and Sr. Austin during my high school days at Holy Name of Jesus. In one instance, when Sister Austin would give me lunch at noontime, Sr. Majella would tease me by saying: "Austin, if you keep feeding her, she will be like a little kitty cat, and keep coming back." She had a wonderful sense of humor. I learned a lot from Sister, and feel privileged to have visited her before her death.

Prayerfully,

I feel certain Sr. Majella is smiling on the correspondences of her Mercy Students Class of '73 discussion about their fond memories of her.

Bless you Sr. Majella!

What memories we could share about how tough Sr. Majella was in Algebra and Trigonometry. She was tough, but fair, and we shall all miss her.

Great teachers such as Sr Majella live on through their students. You may be gone but are not forgotten. Rest in peace, Sr Majella.

Thank you for all the laughs and being honest.

I'll always remember Sr. Majella's love for the New Orleans Saints football team. At our 2011 reunion mass, she reminded all of us that the Saints game was due to start. She was a very important part of Mercy Academy, and her involvement with the Mercy Academy Alumni Association meant a lot to us. She will be greatly missed.

What a gifted Biology teacher whose instruction inspired me so much in college! Such a unique and determined personality with a cunning sense of humor. She will definitely be remembered and missed by the Class of 1970!

Many happy memories especially those at the Mercy Retreat House in Covington, LA. We had so much fun playing tug-a-way over the swimming pool, with Sister Meiella first on one side and Sister de Padua first on the other. Both of them his the water before any of us.
Also had many memories in the old convent where roaches fell out of the ceiling on our herds while we were in class. She also loved having the windows open in

I was taught science by St. Majella and she also taught me in driver's education course. She had a lively personality and was fun to be her student.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of this wonderful person. May the peace of
god which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds as you go through this time of sorrow.

Hardly a day goes by that I don't thank Sr. Majella and the other Sisters of Mercy for the phenomenal education they provided for us. Sr. Majella was one of the finest teachers I ever had - and I can still remember Latin, 50 years later! I am so glad that I got to see her in September for our reunion. She will be sorely missed but remembered forever in my prayers.
