To the Tapia family, I want to express my sincere sorrow to you all. I am and always will be a true fan of Johnny's. I was lucky to attend many of Johnny's fights and loved every moment. It was always a adventure for me. I am fortunate to have a signed boxing clove from Johnny plus other memorabilia. I wish his life didn't come to end so early in his life but the Lord will take care of him, he is at peace now. We will miss you Johnny, RIP!!

Love Ya Always,

Lorrie

He said that he was at hastings one day with his little boy, Johnny just went up to him, hugged him and told him

My condolences to the Tapia family. What a great loss to the family and to the many boxing fans out there. Johnny put Albuquerque on the map. The good news is that he knew Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour. And the angles in heaven rejoice to recieve him and present him to his Lord. Johnny had such a beautiful heart, such a humble man. I have pictures of a granddaughter and Johnny together when she was boxing. He

My deepest sympathy to you at this time of sorrow. Johnny is in God's care now and what better care could we ever ask for him? Now I pray for your comfort in the days ahead. God bless you Teresa and the kids....

i ask you not for victory.....
for somehow, that seems wrong,
but only for protection
and the courage to be strong;

strength- not to conquer-
but just that i'll fight well
and prove myself a sportsman
at the final bell.

i ask you, christ of suffering,
