Jim....a big brother...someone to look up to in so many ways. He was always a mechanic at heart, a pilot , a story teller , truly he will be missed but he is happy now in heaven with Mom and Dad. Love and sympathy to Marianne, Margy, Ann, Mary Lynn and families from Mary Ann and Manuel

From the first time I started asking Jim lots of questions before I purchased my Swift (and how patient he was with me!) to loaning me parts needed for fit checks as we assembled our aircraft, Jim always lent a helping hand without hesitation. I'm certain that everyone in the Swift community has benefited from Jim's knowledge and advice at one time or another. He will be missed by all.

Jim was one of the kindest men I've known... always there to help with a Swift problem or question. His knowledge and commitment to the Swift will be sorely missed. God's speed Jim....

My only wish is that I was not out of town that weekend.

Monty made taking care of my toy so much easier and always made me feel good even when he must have been answering the same question for the millionth time. We are all certainly poorer in his absence.

We met Jim while on temporary assignment in MN 20 years ago. We had both our Swifts there and will always remember Jim's help and advice. Godspeed and fair weather Mr Jim!

When I was about to purchase my first Swift airplane, I was given the name of two people to talk to -- Bud England and Jim Montague. Sadly, now both have Gone West. I knew no one in the Swift community but when I talked to Jim, we talked as if we were old frineds. I talked and e-mailed Jim occasionally and we always had a great conversation about aviation, especially about the Swift. I will miss Jim's friendship and his caretaker status for the Swift. Fair Skies Jim, as you proceed West.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Jim was gentleman and such an asset to all of the Swift pilots. He was a great member of the Swift Association, and he will be greatly missed.
