Immediately after meeting Gary for the first time I knew just where John got his funny sense of humor. Gary certainly fit right in and put several smiles on all of our faces. I know he will be deeply missed by all.
John and Crystal,
You, Kaelynn and the whole Smith family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

From me and all of the fellas at the Park:
Gary, you singlehandedly saved basketball at JC Park from turning into another vacant playground (3 1/2, Bogese, City Point, etc.)...
We all straight up marveled at how, at 50+ years young, you were able to kick our ..... those Sunday mornings. I've said it plenty of times before- if you played that good at 50+, I would've loved to have played with you in your prime homeboy!
You will be sorely missed my friend. Rest in peace.
Donnie, John, Daniel: keep your heads up fellas...

I will always cherish the times that we spent together, you were the best brother in law a girl could ask for. I will always remember the many phone calls, text messages, cook outs, visits, and unexpected visits. You were truly a remarkable Brother In Law and Friend. I was not ready to say good bye to you, this all seems so unfair but I know we will meet again. Your memory will always live on in our family. We love you so much!!! RIP Gary
