Dave,
I found out about Brian after returning to Beckley on Wednesday the day of his funeral. I'm very sorry! I also feel bad because I wasn't there at the funeral to pay my respects. Brian was a good friend and co-worker. He surely will be missed by many. My heart goes out to you and your family.

That stronger, eternal tie can never be severed but it is so painful to lose the earthly one. Brian was a very special person to so many different people and for so many different reasons. God blessed me with a wonderful friend and I’ll always keep him close to my heart. Knowing Brian draws me closer in my faith and I’m eager to see my friend in our Heavenly home. I have never been or felt wholesome in what I could be with the Lord and he and I had talked about that. My life is forever changed and I am making efforts in every moment to always be right with the Lord to also

Dave my thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family at this time. I just found out this morning of the tragedy. Brian was a very sweet and intelligent young man. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet him and work with him back when I was with MSHA. If there is anything you or your family needs, please don't hesitate to let me know. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Dave & Brenda, words don't really describe my feelings about your loss. I got word of this through Patti while traveling and I am so sorry...sorry...sorry. It's been years since I have seen you from the Westmoreland days but you and your family...I have always loved and thought of over the years. I am not sure what I can do and wish I could have been there for you yesterday for support but didn't get in the country till this
