Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Beck Rushing, 76, of Transylvania were held 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Brown Holley Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove, LA with Rev. Billy Castilaw officiating.

Sara Rushing was born on May 3, 1936 in Scooba, Mississippi and passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 in Sulphur, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin "Hot" Rushing; parents, Albert William and Bessie Mae Beck; great-grandson, Conner Yates; and a brother, James Beck.

Survivors include her daughter, Connie Yates and husband, Rufus of New Iberia, LA.; son, James Rushing and wife, Carolyn of Abbeville, LA.; four grandchildren, Tara Warner and husband, Paul; Billy Rushing and wife, Kelly; J.R. Rushing; Brandon Yates and wife, Jamie; three step-grandchildren Brealand Garrett and wife, Kim; Shannan Guidry and husband, Mike; Susan Womack and husband, Chris; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother Bill Beck and wife, Pat of Poplar, MT.; sister Helen Brzozowske of Victoria, TX.; half- brother Prentiss Lee and wife, Peggy of Monticello, MS.; half- sister Joy Thurman and husband, Dennie of Monticello, MS.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Brandon Yates, Paul Warner, James Rushing, Jr., Billy Rushing, Richard Whittington, Greg Thurman, and Brealand Garrett.

Honorary Pallbearers were Jeff Rushing and Michael Rushing.
