Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Funeral Home - Miami Chapel
For years, the Caballero and Rivero names have been known for the finest in quality funeral care and professional assistance in Miami. In cemetery service, Woodlawn has long been the premier choice for area families.
In the Spring of 2000, these names joined to form Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Funeral Homes and Cemeteries, offering families a new level of personalized service. Miami area families are now served by an even larger community of caregivers offering more options and special services. Caballero Rivero Woodlawn's staff members truly care about your familys' special needs.
Because they saw the need for suitable memorial property for discriminating families to enshrine their loved ones in a beautiful tropical garden, in 1913, Thomas O. Wilson, William N. Urmey and Clifton D. Benson established Woodlawn Park. They invested thousands of dollars importing rare tropical trees and shrubs, including the first schefflera (umbrella trees) and mahogany trees, to this country.
Woodlawn Park West:
In 1926, Woodlawn Park commissioned McDonald Lovell, a noted mausoleum architect, to design a mausoleum group for the park. The present building covers more than a city block, accented with marble, stained glass and hand-wrought bronze gates. In 1967, Woodlawn Park South opened to serve the families of the Kendall area. This new cemetery provides future generations with 68 acres of ground burial sites in carefully manicured gardens. In 1990, Woodlawn Park Funeral Home was constructed on the grounds of Woodlawn Park South.
Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home - Caballero Funeral Homes:
The Caballero family opened its first funeral home in downtown Havana, Cuba in 1857. The Caballero family tradition continued when Federico J. "Monin" Caballero Jr., the grandson of the original founder, moved to the United States in the 1960s and opened the Caballero Funeral Home in Miami. As a result of his success, a second funeral home was established in Coral Gables in 1974. In 1990, the two Caballero funeral homes joined Woodlawn Park Cemeteries and Funeral Home. Combining the excellent Caballero funeral services with Woodlawn Parks outstanding funeral home and cemeteries offers the entire Miami area unprecedented opportunities in service, convenience and economy.
Rivero Funeral Homes Hialeah Chapel:
The Rivero family funeral business was started in Havana, Cuba, long before the family moved to the United States in 1963. The three Rivero funeral homes, the largest funeral business in Florida, are located in the Westchester section of Miami, Hialeah in Northwest Dade County and Miami/Coral Gables. The Rivero funeral homes also include Tosca Florist of Miami.
The Rivero Miami/Coral Gables Home located on Southwest 8th street has immediate access to neighboring Woodlawn North Cemetery. This location alone serves an average of 1,100 families annually.
