Jon Edward Scown, 47, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009.

Jon was born to LaMar & LaRetta Scown on October 22, 1961, in Burlingame, CA. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1980 and obtained an ASE certification from Baily Technical School.

Jon married his best friend and perfect mate, Robin McVey on October 2, 2004.

Jon was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin in 1993 and his father LaMar last June. Survivors include his wife, Robin, of the home; his daughter, Kaitlin Arey, Spring Hill; his mother, LaRetta Scown, Overland Park; his brother, Norman Scown and wife Linda of Rowlette, TX; his sister, Leslie Myers and husband Richard, Liberty, MO; his nephew, Evan and his nieces Summer, Jennifer and Allison and more great friends than we'll ever know.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 31, 2009, and funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, April 1, 2009 - both at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66204.
