VISSCHER, Trientje (Trena) of Kalamazoo Died Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Life Care Center of Plainwell. Trena was born December 21, 1926, in Kalamazoo, daughter of John and Elizabeth (VanHamersveld) Visscher and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. Trena was a member of Bethany Reformed Church. She is survived by 2 sisters, Janet (Nathan) Baylor of Bloomingdale and Ralphine Chilla of Kalamazoo; also surviving are nieces and nephews, including Ronald (Mary Jane) Baylor, Judy Chilla, Dan (Sally) Chilla, of Kalamazoo; Nathan (Brenda) Baylor of Bangor; David (Elizabeth) Baylor of Grand Junction; Tim (Joan) Baylor of Niles; Mary (Andrew) Potts of Bloomingdale; Jerry (Jane) Chilla, of Lebanon, Oregon. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 South Burdick Street. Memorial contributions in Trena's memory may be made to the Kalamazoo Christian Schools. Although her physical limitations prevented Trena from ever walking on this earth, she asked several years ago for white slippers to wear on her feet when she finally went to meet Jesus.
