James Ronald "Ron" Troup passed away March 7, 2010 after losing his battle with Leukemia.
Ron was born Nov. 26, 1958 in Memphis, Tn. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Troup Sr. and his brother, Carl Troup Jr. Survivors include his wife, Theresa “Trish” Lynn Troup; daughters, Emily Grace Troup, Tiana & husband Dustin Hubbard; son James Ryan & wife Nikki Troup; grandchildren Collin & Autumn Hubbard and Jackson Troup, sister, Beth & husband Chuck Weaver; many, many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews; sister & brother-in-laws and his loving mother, Patricia “Pat” Troup.
Ron went home to Glory after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. Ron graduated from Bartow High School in 1976 and Polk Community College in 1978, Phi Theta Kappa. A Boilermaker by trade,Tampa Local 433. Ron worked for over 30 years in the Industrial Construction Industry beginning as a laborer and working (earning) his way up to Marketing Manager & Safety Coordinator/Safety Instructor. Ron worked for the Union Contractors & Subcontractors Association for 16 years as a Safety Instructor. He LOVED teaching and was an active member of his Union Trade. He was currently employed with Central Maintenance & Welding as a Safety Coordinator.
Outside of work, Ron loved spending time with family and friends. Ron was very active in Emily's school activities, sports and was a Co-Leader for her Girl Scout troop. He loved fishing for Speckled Perch more than anything & teaching Emily all about the great outdoors.
Ron had a gift, an awesome personality (never met a stanger) and a voice that would not quit, (the next Elvis). His love for music and singing showed everyday as he would fill the house with joy and the hallways at school with laughter. Ron was such an intelligent man who had a heart of gold.
He will be GREATLY missed, but NEVER FORGOTTEN!
Ron’s last wishes were honored and he was able to spend his last days surrounded by family and friends. His final moments were spent with his loving wife at his side, for Better or Worse, Richer or Poorer, in Sickness and in Health, till Death Do Us Part.
In lieu of flowers, a College Trust Fund will be established at BB&T Bank the week of March 15th for his daughter Emily Grace; please re-visit this website for updated Trust information.

Ronnie was the best Elvis, there are alot of people who had the pleasure of hearing him during a High School performance. The excitement we all shared, when Ronnie came out on stage, girls planted in the crowd who jumped up screaming, running to the stage and having scarfs flung at us. For those of you who missed it, he's warming up the vocals for us and you will get the pleasure in glory of hearing a wonderful voice. God Bless Ronnie's Family.
