Mrs. Florence Garman Burris

NEWTON – Florence Garman Burris, 85 of Newton passed away on November 5, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley.
Born July 27, 1926 in Montgomery County, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Eli and Mary Ann Emerson Garman. Mrs. Burris was a member of The Church of The First Born in Coffeyville, Kansas. She loved working outside in her yard and ceramics. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Burris; brothers, Ivan Garman, Foney Garman and Floyd Garman; and sisters, Daisy Hamlin and Pat Bradley.
Survivors include a son, Mike Burris and wife, Kay of Maiden; daughter, Sandra Beaver and husband, Bob of Hickory; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Burris will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 10 AM at Catawba Funerals and Cremations with Pastor Chris Huffman and Rev. Ernie Richards officiating. A 12 PM Committal Service will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery, 550 South Railroad Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.
