Mattie R. West, 55, of Windsor, formerly of East Hartford, passed away at her home on Friday, April 9, 2010. Mattie was born in Americus, GA on August 6, 1954. Mattie will be remembered for her “passion for fashion”, her sassy mouth, but mostly her love of family. She is survived by her children, Troy Lamont West and Tylonne Montique West, her mother, Mattie (West) Bowens, brothers, Paul West and his wife Joyce, Eddie West and his wife Shirley, Mack West and his wife Jacquline, Johnny West, sisters, Gaye Parker and her husband Prince, Faye Bowens, Geraldine Livingston, Ethel Bowens Calloway and her husband Joe Willie, and Carolyn Bowens, four granddaughters, Myeshia Renee, Tranesia, Madison Troi, and Journey Lee, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was predeceased by her brothers Clifford West, Felton West, James Edward West, Moses Bowens, Fred Bowens, Eston Bowens, Jr., and Donnell Bowens, and sisters, Louise Harvey and Mary Bowens. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 11 a.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Her family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
