McCoy Carter, age 70, of Crossett, AR passed away on April 30, 2012 at his residence. He was born on May 24, 1941in Milo, AR to his parents, Watson McCoy Sr. and Dorothy Nell Smith Carter. Mr. Carter was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed hunting. He attended the Meridian Baptist Church. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Warren McCoy Carter and a brother, Billy Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Carter of Crossett, AR; three sons, Tommy Carter and Randall Carter, both of Bastrop, LA, Randy Smith (Debbie) of Crossett, AR; one daughter, Liz Mathews (Henry) of Crossett, AR; one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Carter of Bastrop, LA; two brothers, Jimmy Carter (Jerri) of Crossett, AR, Kenneth Carter of Pine Bluff, AR; two sisters, Doris Arnold (Lee) of Pine Bluff, AR, Ann Courson (Bill) of Crossett, AR; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Meridian Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR. (www.jonesservice.com)
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at the church.
