"Charity" a word that Christ says encompasses all the commandments. This one thing in life "beareth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." Betty waa this and more, she gave me hope when I was in need, embraced me as a daughter and showed me how it felt to have a Mother again, as she encouraged me in the attributes of Christian living. I watched her prepare her Sunday school lessons as she taught for many years. The fond memories of fantastic meals prepared from scratch, hanging clothes on the line to dry, planting flowers, watching the birds at her feeders, doing household chores the right way,,,making a house a home, guiding me in womanhood, advice I live by today. Her example of entertaining not only friends and family, was that of strangers, if there was a need it was met, with a smile of sheer enjoyment, she gave with unconditional joy. Our walks along the beach in the summers, is priceless, the rides to the mountains for a day of relaxing and viewing the mighty works of God in this his WV. As life has it's times here on earth and loved ones as she, will pass, we are left behind, as sad as this is I realize it will come a time when we shall meet again. May God's angels and his presence be with her, as she is in a heavenly realm, waiting as the Lord says, for his coming,,rejoice! for she has fought the fight and won the race..This is Betty to me: "Be not forgetfull to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
"We should be lonely here, were it not for friends that in passing, sometimes tary o'right, and make us glad, by their coming" Henry Wadsworth Longfellow,,all my love to you all, forever and ever Amen

Some of my most cherished Thanksgiving and Christmas memories were held in Grandma Carpenter's (as we knew her) beautiful home. I will hold the memories of running the beautiful fields of her backyard with my cousins near and dear to my heart. Grandma was perfect in every way and inspired me to live my life accordingly. I thank her for opening her home to her orphaned relative, Ruth Ann (my mother)as a teenager. She gave my mother her "Lady" style

Grandma is now with her family above and we will miss her dearly. Until we all meet again...

Ed and Terry:
I'm sorry I won't be in town this week. I have many fond thoughts of your parents and their friendship with my parents and their extended families. As a young child I remember the weekend caravans to the mountains. It seemed the object was to drive on mountain roads until you came to a gate or in the spring to harvest honeysuckles. Your parents were part of the friends and neighbors when White Hall was country. Remember the good times.

Dear Aunt Betty
I am so glad I spoke to you a few months ago....it was a good conversation as we shared wonderful memories. Uncle Paul made me laugh with his many antics...you were both good family relatives.
