Forward This Obituary to Family and Friends
My Dear Champie,
Even though the weeks are passing that you have been gone, never a day goes by that I don't visit you here and tell you how much I love you and miss you so much. I long for the day that I'll be taken to you. Your daddy misses you too. Max and Tiger are OK, but they miss you so. Take care, dear baby.
I love you.

As you were about to disembark on a cruise, taking a bite out of a chocolate strawberry, you were worried about leaving your dogs behind. We wonder what our dogs, our companions, will endure when we leave them. There is no doubt Champ was chosen, chosen to be with a wonderful family, home, with tremendous love, and the best of everything he could possibly have during his life here.

Fred and Jeannie,
Joy and I share your feelings now having lost two wonderful dog friends over the years. Time does heal all wounds.

My dear Champ, it was an honor and privilege to know you. I loved you like you were my dog. You always carried yourself like the king you were. I will miss you greeting me at the door and laying at my feet. I am sure Alex and you are running and playing together. We will meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.

"Beyond The Rainbow"
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wonderous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful-lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthly as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night,
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
May God's peace comfort you both at this difficult time.

You truly are "The Champ". A most deserving name, and the best dog anyone could ever have. I'm sure you found a shady spot to lay with a breeze. I look forward to seeing you again.

Champ, oh how we all loved you. We could go on and on, so many things about you. You will be in hearts forever. You, and your 'kind' teach us how to live (to the fullest), how to love (with no boundaries). You bring out the best in us, and when we aren't at our best, you love us anyway. Goodbye dear friend, dear little angel. God keep you (by His side). Cody says to keep an eye out for him, he'll join you someday soon. It's good to have 'friends' in high places....
