Death of a Parent

Dear Robin: I have just logged in and read your letter and cry for help. My heart is with you. the things that are happening in your life and have happen are very real and the feelings you have are deep. It is not easy living in this world and especially without the ones that we miss because of death. I also have loss many that I love as well as have gone thru very difficult times. It seems sometimes that nobody wants to be around when you are depressed but I have received much strength and guidance thru a close look into God's word. I have found a very loving caring person that wanted me to draw close to him thru prayer (James 4:8) and I found that he made many promises thru his word and one of them is to guide me thru this dark world. King David of ancient Israel had confidence in God's loving care. David once said "In case my own father and my own mother did leave me, even God himself would take me up. (Psalm 27:10. Notice that even if his parents -- his closest human contacts--were to leave him, he knew that God would not desert him. Out of love and concern God is offering unending friendship with him along with guidance. Never give up. You must continue to seek employment. Sometimes we have to accept a job we normally would not accept or do not necessarily want but it can help with the feeling of depression. I hope that you allow yourself to grieve as it is a process and it is something you must go thru. It will take much needed time and whenever you feel that you need to grieve, allow yourself to. Already you are beginning to heal because you can write about your feelings and are reaching out for help and I admire that quality. May you find peace. Dee

HI SWEET HEART , I HAPPENED TO COME ACROSS THIS CITE AND IT NAILED IT ON THE HEAD. I AM 27 AS OF SEPT AND I LOST MY MOTHER AT NINE AND MY FATHER AT THE AGE OF 17, STILL IN H.S. AND YES I'M DEPRESSED AS WELL, HONEY I CAN TELL YOU THIS BECAUSE I 'VE BEEN THERE. I CAN'T SIT HERE AND QUOTE THE BIBLE BUT WHAT I CAN TELL YOU THAT HELPED ME WAS FAITH AND BELIEF IN MY SELF THAT I WAS GOING TO MAKE IT OUT. I TO TURNED TO GUYS FOR COMFORT BECAUSE DAD WAS NOT THERE AND SEXUALLY ABUSIVE TO MY OLDER SISTER. BEFOR MY DAD DIED HE APPOLIGIZED FOR HIS WRONG DOINGS BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE UP FOR TIME LOST. EVERY GUY I DATED HURTED ME MENTALLY THEN BEGAN TO TURN PHYSICAL. I'VE SNIFFED COCAINE, I'VE SMOKED WEED, I'VE STRIPPED,I 'VE DRANK MYSELF TO SLEEP,ALL TO TRY TO MAKE ME FORGET ALL THE PAIN . WELL GUESS WHAT HONEY IT STAYS THERE AND WILL NOT GO AWAY UNTIL YOU STAND UP AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. YOU NEED TO FIND SOMEONE WHOM YOU CAN TRUST TO TALK ABOUT YOUR PAIN , A GROUP OR CENTER FOR YOUNG ADULTS. I KNOW ITS NOT THE BEST OF TIMES TO LOOK FOR A JOB BUT IF YOUR WILLING TO FIGHT THEN TAKE WHAT EVER JOB YOU CAN AND MAKE THE BEST OF IT. SAVE ,SAVE ,AND SAVE ALL YOU CAN. SLOWY YOU WILL SEE YOURSELF COME OUT OF THE WHOLE. I WAS ON MY OWN AT 17 SO I KNOW IT CAN BE DONE THIS IS WHAT I DID. SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO LOVE OURSELF BEFORE WE FIND LOVE IN OTHERS. AND FINDING THAT "LOST"LOVE CAN BE DEVISTATING IF WERE LOOKING IN THE WRONG PLACES. FILL YOUR HEART FIRST THEN LET SOMEONE ELSE FINISH.
