Buddy Baker
January 25, 1941 - August 10, 2015
Charlotte, North Carolina

I was a friend of Buddy's and we did a lot together on and off the track. He was a friend. I am sorry that I could not make it to your final ride my friend, but my health has not been the best lately and I did not feel well enough to make the drive up there and back by myself. I will keep you in my prayers. Joe Frasson

I did not know Buddy Baker, but I do know Joe Frasson and he has told me a lot of sorties of the two. Joe would talk a lot about the racing days while he was in the hospital 1 1/2 years ago fighting AML Leukemia. I am much younger then the two men, but I still enjoy hearing and seeing pictures of the two having a good old time, just racing and enjoying life. My prayers are with the family during this time and I hope and pray that you know Buddy is now with God. He is out of pain and having a racing good time in heaven.

My first race was at Darlington,SC "Southern 500" Sept. 1976 . That all it took, I was hook on racing after that race. I would go to 8 to 10 races a year for the next 38 years. I pick Buddy Baker for my driver because of the person he was, I never met a person that didn't like Buddy, that should tell you something about him. When he got hurt in, I think it was 1986 and in the Charlotte Hospital, I sent him a get well card. I was at The Richmond Race but he wasn't there and when they were leaving after the race, I was on the bank watching the car hauler leave when Buddy hauler came by, I had my Crisco Shirt on and the driver wave for me to come on down to the truck. They had stop , I went down and told him I sent Buddy a get well card to the hospital. He said if he get it he will reply back, that the way he is. When I got home and got my mail, there was a letter for me from Buddy Baker with a card that said TO CHESTER FROM BUDDY BAKER . I still have it in a frame on my wall. You and your family are in our prayers. Chester & Chickey Huffman

I loved listening to Buddy on NASCAR radio. He was such a great story teller and historian of the sport. We will miss you Buddy. You and your family will be in my prayers.
