It is with sadness the family of James Alvin Stenberg announces his passing on October 6, 2021. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Carol Stenberg and his three children, Susan Stenberg, Pamela Abrahamsson (husband Paul Clausen) and Byron Stenberg (wife Rosa Stenberg).

Jim's grandchildren include Terri (partner Shawn), Amber (husband Johnny), Amanda (husband Michael), Alyssa (partner Pat) and Arianna (partner Tyler). He has six great grandchildren, Desiree, Hailey, Shawn, Evan, Michael and Jonah.

Born in Detroit, Michigan October 2, 1932, Jim was raised in International Falls, Minnesota, and is a long-time resident of Lakewood, California.
Jim and Carol Stenberg were married February 10, 1956 and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Jim and Carol were faithful members of The Salvation Army for over 65 years.

Jim was the son of Alvin and Myrtle Stenberg and had a sister, Marjorie (husband Robert) and brother, David (wife Lana). Jim entered the U.S. Navy in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He worked at McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing, for over 38 years, retiring in 1993 and loved and respected for his work ethic and commitment.

He loved and protected his family, enjoyed woodworking and fix-it projects, volunteering, reading, Chevrolets and enthusiastically followed Western, aviation and US history.

A memorial service will be held Monday, October 25th, 1pm PST at Forest Lawn Mortuary, Cypress, Ca, with visitation from 1-4pm Saturday, October 23rd.
