John F. Golden, 77, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Thursday, January 28, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Beverly P. (Brown) Golden for 56 years. Son of the late Francis W. and Helen H. (Morse) Golden, he was born in Boston, raised in Jamaica Plain, New Hampshire and Boston and graduated from Roslindale High School. He was a resident of Stoughton for 51 years. John was a Specialist 3rd Class in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He worked for Commonwealth Gas in Dedham for 35 years, retiring in 1991 as a Service Foreman. John also was the owner and operator of Golden's Transportation of Stoughton for over 20 years. He was an avid and talented woodworker who excelled in bird carving. Mr. Golden was very active at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton, serving as Senior Acolyte and was awarded the Bishop Cheverus Medal from the Archdiocese of Boston for his dedication to the church. John blended his talents as a woodworker and dedication to the church by donating the wooden crucifix displayed at Immaculate Conception Church. He also enjoyed working in his yard, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Bannon of Norton, Linda Melito of Raynham, Cheryl Tremblay of Lancaster, Joanne Goldberg of Stoughton, Sharyn Pasquale of Raynham and twin daughters, Kimberly Costa of West Bridgewater and Kristin Ricardo of Stoughton.
