"Dear Kassing Family,
It's hard to believe it's over one year since Dr Kassing had passed away. My sincere thoughts and prayers were with you on the funeral day and every day since.
I want Luke and Sophia to know that their Dad was so uplifting to be around. It's not always that you can say words like...compassionate....kind-hearted...genuinely considerate....and a pleasure to know. These are the exact words to describe your Dad the 10 years I worked with him at St Vincent Carmel.
The photo books of your family that I saw at the visitation were priceless. The love and pride was shinning
through every picture. Always keep your memories close to your heart and know how much your Mom and Dad both love you.
It was my privilege to have known and worked with your Dad. My sympathy to you and the entire Kassing
Ann Rohrer RN, Friend/ Co-worker"
"Dear Kassing Family,
May thoughts and memories of David inspire you and continue to make you smile.
My prayers are with all of you ......
David was one of my most special friends during our four years together at Denison...especially our Freshman year in Chemistry - funny we both dropped the class and he ended up a Dr!!
The bundle of letters he sent from his semester in London are words I will cherish and will remember the graciousness and generosity of his spirit (and Mom's ) feeding me when I traveled from Cincinnati to Indy for work a LONG time ago. I am sorry we lost touch...so many fond memories of a special time and very special man...David will forever live in my heart."
"To The Kassing Family,
Whenever I saw David, he always had a big smile and warm welcome. David was such a vibrant, happy and positive person. David was a very caring person to everyone. I always knew it was going to be a good day at work when I got to be in the same O.R. as David.
My thought and prayers are with you and David, and that you will see him again in heaven."
"I had the privilege of working with David in PACU for many years. He was a competent, compassionate physician, who treated all his patients with great respect. As the doors from the OR would open, David would come barreling in,pushing the cart at great speed and announcing the patient, " Happy, healthy, __ year old!!!!" He always had a smile on his face and care in his heart. Jordan and Matthew, I too have children, your ages, and when your Dad and I would speak of our teenagers' antics, David always ended the conversation on a positive note. He knew that you were both destined to be great men. Luke and Sophia, it was so much fun watching your parents fall in love. I will never forget the day they came into the PACU and told us they were expecting twins, they were beaming from ear to ear. If they had the chance, your Mom and Dad always had lunch together at work, you could see their love across the room. David will be missed but his love lives on in all those who knew him."
"I have visited this site many times trying to figure out what words to put down. I cannot comprehend the grief felt by Sherry and the entire family.....I pray that you have the strength that you will need to get through this difficult time. I will always remember Dr. Kassing's upbeat personality and positive attitude....even in the middle of the night! It was an honor to know and work with him. He was an excellent physician, someone I trusted with my own family members. He was a kind man, someone who treated everyone with respect. I very much enjoyed sharing "twin stories" with him! He will be missed, but never forgotten!"
"David was so full of life and such a sweet person...so hard still to think that he is gone. I'm so very glad I had the privilege of knowing him....just wish the time hadn't been so short. David seemed to love everyone around him, always a warm smile, and made you feel so welcome and that you mattered to him. We had so much fun at the cabin in August! Such a great memory to have! Kenny and I are here for you, Sherry, and for the kids. Love you all."
