"I was born with Dodger Blue blood and Duke was always my hero. I had the chance to meet him once in Lincoln where he was part of a group of athletes playing pick up games for charity. I've met and talked with Presidents but when I met Duke I was speechless. There I was face to face with my boyhood idol. I never thought it would happen. He was truly a gentleman and one great player."

"Mr. Snider was my boyhood hero. I grew up in a Yankee culture, but I followed "Dem Bums" and the Duke was always at the top of the list. I'm glad I had him as a role model. Hopefully, someday I'll thank him face to face on that diamond in the sky. RIP."

"Duke was beloved by his family and was a good man. He was a true gentleman. His Father, Ward, was his biggest fan and never missed a game or event and was very proud of Duke.
May God bless his wfe Beverly and his children and give them comfort.
With Love.
Pat"

"Duke Snider spoke at my high school football banquet in Hemet CA, in 1969. He was great. He shook hands with players, coaches and parents. He was personal and friendly. I met him a few months later when his sons were going to play in a basketball tournament. He remembered me. That made a great impression on me. He is still one of the great heroes of Dodger baseball. Our prayers are with his family."

"Being born in Brooklyn Duke was the first player I idolized. He was a special player for me and I got a 2nd chance to watch him when he came to the Mets. Whenever I talk about the Brooklyn Dodgers I feel honored to have watched Snider, Robinson, Campy and Hodges. To the fans of today you don't know what you missed. R.I.P and thanks for the memories."

"As an 8 year old boy,I watched the Duke & soon became a Dodger fan among many Cardinal fans. I thought he was the best that I saw among many ball players. Later in retirement I marveled at his class & Christlikeness. He is the person I would like to be as an athlete but more importantly as a person."
