"Jim came to our house in 1964 with Willie Horton ,Bruce brubaker,Mack Jones and Legrant Scott my brother in law. They all stayed for the day playing in our field hitting balls and laughing and we all had lunch together. I was with my mom at age 5 watching and my brother Ron 14 yrs old was pitching to the players and having a sand lot moment. It was all fun and I have dedicated our field as a Sand Lot of four major league players(jim Northup) during they Syracuse chiefs minor league season who went on to world series 1968.
Prayers to the family during this dificult time. God be with you!

" I was a classmate of Jim's, freshman year at Alma College. He briefly dated my roommate, Carlene Fernstrum, and we I remember double dating with him. What a nice guy!!! Many good memories. Am sorry for the families loss."

"Jim was a class mate of mine in St. Louis Michigan. He came to my home town of Jackson to sign autographs in the mid 80's at the Mall. We went to the mall with my youngest son. I went to introduce myself and he laughed and said "I know who you are" I enjoyed the years of following Jim's baseball career.

"My heart is heavy today as we have lost one of the greatest Tigers ever. This morning I found my 1973 Jim Northrup baseball card - it is quite worn and got a bit more worn out today. R.I.P. great guy - someday I hope to shake your hand. You've given me such wonderful memories. Prayers for your family, they were truly blessed."
