"I had the honor as a kid to see Johnny play along with Ted, Dom, Bobby etc in the 50's. Johnny Pesky was the epitome of a great baseball player, human being and all around nice guy who always gave his autograph when we as kids asked him and he never stopped after all these years. God bless him and his family, and we will always remember him.

You could see that his age was catching up to him the last few times I saw him at the ballpark; but he was always there for the big moments - opening day, playoff games (if they ever happen again); and his presence will be missed on all of those future occasions."
