"Sally made her mark in History and in the lives of so many young people. I was just starting my teaching career when she took that First Flight into Space. She is to be remembered for her spirit and lasting contribution to all Mankind."

"Sally Ride is listed in my American Heritage Dictionary, so her name in history is a big deal. I also have had an interest in the sciences (including astronomy), having grown up near Stanford University and nearby NASA.
Now my nephew Noah is the newest science hopeful, learning everything he needs to learn for a career in aerospace engineering. Who knows... maybe he will be a future astronaut!"

"As a young girl growing up in central Florida, space & Cape Canaveral/Kennedy was a very big thing. I watched the Apollo rockets launch from my grandfathers boat- back when we could get right up close.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Ride's passing. Sally Ride is more than an inspiration- she is the best example of what we as humans can ever be.
My deepest condolences to her partner Tam, & to her other family & friends. Such a sad day, indeed..."
