"I was just wondering how Spencer was doing, last week- & then heard he had passed. I did know he wasn't well- Hadn't spoken with him in quite awhile, and the last time I'd called, his daughter said he was "resting"- So. When I lived in L.A., we used to go out to lunch ("Do Lunch"-!) at the House of Blues, off of Sunset. I will always Miss him..."

"I like many others were absolutely stunned to hear of his passing because "Keep on running" was like an anthem to us back in the day, reading various obituaries of Spencer he may not have been daily in our sight but the proof of his prowess as a professional shows in the list of other professionals that he played with in his coming years, it shows respect to someone that deserved it. I am not far behind him in years and this brings to mind that l too am in the winter of my life."
