Doug, what a terrible loss. Although you were in the group of upcoming pipers a few years younger than me, you and your family were a vital and important part of the piping and drumming community in Delaware for over fifty years. Your sense of humor was contagious, your piping skills superb. Thank you for your service to our country and to the piping world.
Sincerest condolences to your family and friends. May you rest in peace. You will be missed by more than you could imagine.

My sincere condolences to Pearl and the whole McConnell clan. There are so many happy memories of Doug doing what he loved best: playing bagpipes. He leaves an indelible memory of music, laughter, and friendship. A teacher to many a highland piper, his influence lives on.
