Charles S. "Stan" Haynes, age 66 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Monday, December 22, 2014, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Born Friday, December 10, 1948 in Higginsville, Missouri, he is the son of the late Norman Haynes and the late Sophie (Jackson) Haynes. Also preceded in death is one brother Norman Haynes.

Mr. Haynes was employed as a laborer for the City of Higginsville Street Department retiring in 2006. He was a lifelong resident of Higginsville and a 1966 graduate of Higginsville High School. He received a basketball scholarship to Trenton Junior College where he attended for two years. A member of the Methodist faith, he was also a member of the Missouri Wildlife and Conservation and North American Hunting Club.

Surviving are his significant other, Peggy S. Storm of the home in Higginsville; three sons, Cedric (Heather) Haynes of Odessa, Missouri, Christopher Haynes of Warrensburg, Donald Storm of Higginsville; four daughters, Chandra (Errol) Dayle of Blue Springs, Missouri, Twhyla (Esten) Kirby of Jefferson City, Missouri, Mende Storm of Higginsville, Sunshine Storm of Warrensburg; three brothers, Bob (Joyce) Haynes of Higginsville, Ronald (Berma) Haynes of Dallas, Texas, Amiel Haynes of Higginsville, 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Huffman officiating, and Evelyn Elmore as vocalist. Interment will be in Mt Muncie Cemetery, Higginsville.

The family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. on Friday at Hoefer Funeral Home, 1600 Main St., Higginsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
