Dianne, Carol and Ernie, Libby and Steve, Allen and Sally, and Edwards, Gregory, Smith and O'Shields families,

The photograph here shows Aunt Dottie just the way I will always see her in my mind's eye - elegantly dressed, with her hair beautifully done, wearing her pearl necklace and a sweet smile. She was one of the most gracious and lovely women I've ever known. In the cheery chaos of our O'Shields family get-togethers at Granny's, Aunt Dottie was always so serene and warmly welcoming to all of us kids. Uncle Hugh was too, and I loved them both and always admired their wonderful relationship. I hope it comforts you to know that they're together again in the Lord's embrace.

All of us are thinking of you, with love and prayers for peace and healing in this sad time.

My mom and I would come to Spartanburg to visit relatives when I was young and I always loved going to Aunt Dottie's house. She was the perfect hostess and made everyone feel right at home. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out.

I will always remember how kind and caring your mom was to a group of teenage girls spending the night with Carol. Though I am sure we weren't as well-behaved as we should have been, she was always so gracious and kind. Carol, Dianne, Libby, sorry for your loss, may God be with you all. Linda Allen

I just visited your Mother a few days ago and was so touched by her Faith in God. I wish that I could have spent more time with her. I felt so uplifted by her spirit. I fully understand when people say "She just fell asleep and woke-up in Heaven with God". May God Bless your family during this sad time.Bobbie Gilbert United Baptist Church.
