I met Bob in Denia, Spain in 1971 where he was vacationing with his family and I was traveling in Europe. We connected through playing tennis daily and going to bullfights. He was concerned about turing 30 and he and his wife Francois befriended me and took me on tours around Denia. We had a great time together. He was a wonderful person. RIP. I've followed his career for 45 years.

We did not know Bob but we did his lovely daughter Tanya and his son-in-law Evan. We cannot properly express our sorrow for your loss - from everything we've read about your dear father, he was a giant in the industry. He will be missed by his fans and I know, your family.

I recall his reporting and professional demeanor, as a teenager growing up in this city, that apparently, he also loved so very much!
I shall remember him and his dear family, in my thoughts and prayers

Now he has a even greater story to cover. He survived bombs and bullets in the most dangerous places on earth only to die in a car crash. But he had an appointment to keep. He was great at what he did and a credit to his profession. Rest in peace because your story will continue.

I'm stunned of learning of the news that vet. CBS newscaster Bobby Simon's dead. He was tragically killed on an auto accident on Manhattan's West Side Hwy. in N.Y. City, N.Y. just a day back and he had been on the "tiffany network"'s long-running news magazine "LX Min.". He shall be deeply missed. May he R.I.P.
