She was raised on the family farm near Grinnell and was first educated at Malcom Country School Number 3 in rural Poweshiek County. She graduated from Grinnell High School, class of 1956.

She was united in marriage to Hillard Turner, Jr. on September 9, 1955, at the First Baptist Church in Grinnell. The couple was blessed with four children, Diana, Joni, Laura and Greg. Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We loved her laugh and her loving attention to family. She was a fun-loving aunt who loved family gatherings. We could always count on her to take family movies and photographs. She especially enjoyed capturing naughty moments of children and laughing about them later! We were always in awe of her creativity and the projects she worked on. Whenever a family member was in need, she and Junior were always there to help. We are so sorry that we won't be able to make the trip to Iowa on Sunday to laugh and cry with all of you as you celebrate her life. Please know that we are grieving with you and send loving thoughts your way.
