So sorry to hear of Richard Clear's passing. Spent many hours in Dragon's Lair as a teenager in the mid-70's, fighting over condition and prices of comics and books with him. He usually won. Godspeed.

I knew Richard for many years. Even though we often beat heads when bidding at auctions, I always considered him to be a friend. I will miss him. He was a "good guy". I did not know he had passed away until I ran across the auction ad. I wished I had known sooner as I would have wanted to say good by in person. We will miss you Richard. So long.

I knew Richard as an astute and honorable colleague and a genuine and friendly person. He was always a pleasure to deal with -- knowledgeable, fair, easy-going. And yet even while he maintained his business, for far too many years, he battled one serious health challenge after another. He was forthright about his illnesses, but was never self-pitying. I learned from him as a colleague, but perhaps I learned more from him about being an indomitable presence in this world.

I will greatly miss my father. He was a great and wonderful father to me, I could not of asked for better.

We are so sorry to hear of Richard's passing. May God bring comfort and strength to his family and closest friends. He was a dear friend to the Alexander family and friend and business associate with David. May he rest in peace now and out of his pain and broken body.
