Condolence & Memory Journal

Oh my, I just realized I typed the wrong 'there'. Sometimes my fingers don't match what's in my head. Again, please accept my sympathies.

Hello. I just read of Mr. Blanken's passing in Rowan Today. Is this same Mr. Blanken who was the landlord at 424 Victoria Street? I lived their for 3 of my GSC years - 1983-86. I can still see him clear as day, occasionally chiding us for something or another! My condolences on your loss. Regards, Lorraine

I am sorry so for your loss. Please
accept my sincere condolences. I hope
you will find your strength and comfort in Jesus promises of the earthly
resurrection (Acts 24:15) and the renewed Paradise earth, where death will be
no more and no family will have to mourn the death of a loved one ever again (Revelation
21:3,4; Luke 23:43). May GOD (Psalms 83:18)
grant you peace and comfort now during this grievous time-Matthew 5:4.

Maurice Blanken was my colleague and friend during the whole of my tenure at Glassboro State, later, Rowan University. Maurice's life exhibited the well rounded, not too specialized life style balance recommended by many who speak of what is a good way to live. Maurice was a scholar, a writer, a knowledge seeker, a carpenter, a physical activist as he was great walker, and engaged in business endeavors. As a professional political scientist, Maurice had a special acumen in knowing the qualities of politicians., and he made efforts to promote those who he felt would help strengthen this country. He was in the group of those rare professors who made teacher's colleges famous for their humanistic education
